An algorithm of infinite sums representations and Tasoev continued fractions
For any given real number, its corresponding continued fraction is unique. However, given an arbitrary continued fraction, there has been no general way to identify its corresponding real number. In this paper we shall show a general algorithm from continued fractions to real numbers via infinite sums representations. Using this algorithm, we obtain some new Tasoev continued fractions.
متن کاملConical Limit Sets and Continued Fractions
Inspired by questions of convergence in continued fraction theory, Erdős, Piranian and Thron studied the possible sets of divergence for arbitrary sequences of Möbius maps acting on the Riemann sphere, S. By identifying S with the boundary of three-dimensional hyperbolic space, H, we show that these sets of divergence are precisely the sets that arise as conical limit sets of subsets of H. Usin...
متن کاملWalk-Sums, Continued Fractions and Unique Factorisation on Digraphs
We demonstrate that any walk on a directed graph G can be decomposed into an underlying simple path and a nested collection of bare cycles, where simple paths and bare cycles are open and closed walks that are forbidden from visiting any vertex more than once. We define a convention for the nesting structure of the bare cycles that makes this path decomposition unique. In contrast to existing d...
متن کاملHausdorff dimension of sets of divergence arising from continued fractions
A complex continued fraction can be represented by a sequence of Möbius transformations in such a way that the continued fraction converges if and only if the sequence converges at the origin. The set of divergence of the sequence of Möbius transformations is equivalent to the conical limit set from Kleinian group theory, and it is closely related to the Julia set from complex dynamics. We dete...
